I purchased these cds hoping that my daughter would get a head start for kindergarten over the summer. My daughter actually enjoys playing some of the games, but others are so difficult that I have to sit with her and give her clues (or the answers) for her to complete the activity. Furthermore, some of the material does nothing to reenforce skills that she has already mastered. None of the cds contain activities that teach new skills; your child either knows it and can complete the activity or does not know it and cannot complete the activity. Another con: you don't have the option choose which skill to work on. The skills are presented in a preset order.
The math cd is the only one worth anything though. It has about 30 activities including games as a reward for every 2 activities you complete. The rest have art and movies that kids will click on that are not very educational. Comes in a huge boz, with 4 cds in sleeves. Ridiculous packaging. Love the math one for ages 3-5. My 4 year old was surpassing it pretty quickly, but no telling if my other child will end up using it longer or later than 3 years.
I have previously purchased "school zone" activity books for my daughter. Two of these books came with some computer software that she enjoyed. I looked on the school zone website for additional activities. I found this 4 pk of CD's for the computer. These are a birthday gift for her, so she has not used them yet. I am impressed with the other two CD's I have and I hope that these one's are just as good.
I am a homeschooling mom of an advanced two year old and I am very pleased with this product as an addition to his daily lessons; I ran the math CD and it is very similar to the workbooks he has done and pretty well mastered, so he really enjoyed the activities as they were familiar to him. The advantage is that it goes all the way up to twenty instead of only ten like most workbooks and learning books. He loved seeing the stars and knowing he got each problem correct so it has the added bonus of being an instant gratification game and they have a good balance between the lessons and the fun games they offer in between. He enjoyed them!
