This is my first experience with sticker by number and I love it! The first book arrived without any protective plastic wrap and was soaked. Amazon replaced it with no problem. There have been only one or two issues with the stickers (i.e., one was hard to get off the page, and a couple that weren't long enough for the space on the picture--I have mild OCD and it wasn't bad enough to bother me :). I will be ordering every sticker book I can get my hands on!Update: Being my first experience, I thought I just needed practice. Wrong! As I get further along, I agree with everyone who made the comments that the stickers do not fit in the shapes. I gave it a 1.5 star because a few of them were okay. It's no fun to spend the time doing these and have the pictures come out looking like crap. I'll finish the last few, only because I paid for it.I have discovered others that are of absolute excellent quality and I will beg them to make more!

I've tried several brands of these sticker by number books and I really enjoy them. I find them more fun and relaxing than the incredibly intricate adult coloring books that are out there.This particular book is both smaller than most other sticker books and spiral bound, so once you flip back the cover it takes up significantly less than half the space of other books. I think I prefer this because it's less unwieldy.It seems that most companies sell books with 12 pictures; this one has 28 pictures but they tend to be smaller pictures with fewer stickers that don't take as long to complete.The pages aren't perforated, but this wasn't a problem for me. I had no trouble ripping the sticker pages out of the binding; it was actually far easier than removing some "perforated" pages from other books that required scissors and/or painstaking care to avoid damaging the stickers near the binding.When I was doing the pictures, every now and then I'd encounter an incompletely cut sticker that required a little extra effort to remove from the sticker sheet. Slightly annoying, but not a huge deal.A couple other reviewers have rightfully mentioned the toucan. Something definitely went wrong with the toucan. All the stickers are too small for their spots, so no matter how carefully you place them there are going to be white gaps around the edges. Even worse, there's a place where there is simply no matching sticker. My poor toucan has a little naked triangle on his back. How do you let something like that go to the printer?Fortunately, the toucan is an aberration. (I also remember having some problems with sticker placement on the tulip picture, too, but that one worked out okay - relatively to the toucan, anyway - in the end.) I've completed the whole book, and the stickers on the other pictures fit precisely, or at least close to precisely, in their places. Again, I've done several of these sticker books, and it seems like all of them have had some stickers that don't quite fit no matter what you do. So aside from the 1 or 2 flawed pictures I mentioned, it's comparable to other sticker books I've tried in quality. The toucan mistake shouldn't have happened, but it also doesn't ruin the rest of the book.

Here's a few things I dislike about this book. 1.) Not all of the stickers are thoroughly cut through. They tear easily with trying to get them off the backing just because of the lack of cutting. You have to use a scissors. 2.) The pictures are not perforated, I can live with that. However, the sticker pages are not perforated and you can't remove them for easy use unless you just rip them out of the book. 3.) Multiple design stickers are printed on one page. There should be 1 page of stickers (or 2 if needed) for each picture, not stickers for multiple pictures on 1 page. I bought 2 of these books, each one different. We've already used some of one (and some pages just had to be thrown away due to the stickers not cut correctly) so I can't return it. But you can bank on it that the second one will be returned. Appearance alone, one would think this is a good book, well, it's not. Save your $$$.

My therapist suggested I use adult coloring books to help with my anxiety. I don't like to color... I'd never heard of sticker by number -- but I'm so glad I stumbled across these. While I don't like coloring, I really LOVE these. They do have a calming effect -- provide a bit of a challenge, and the pictures are gorgeous. There are several varieties, and I plan to order more... I hope to see even more releases of these kinds of books. My daughter, who will be 5 this December, also absolutely loves the kids version... she saw me using this book, and wanted some of her own! Great product, especially if coloring just isn't your thing, but you'd like something to occupy your hands and mind.

Meh. The idea of this was great, just not for me. I did do a few of the pages, but just didn't really do anything for me. However, my 5 year old son LOVES it. He has already done a few of the pages and it keeps him busy for a little while. The book itself is very nice. I like the wire binding; it makes it easy to turn pages. The stickers stick good to the pages. There are 28 images to sticker, all very nice designs. Although, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the book once all the pages are stickered...so this is going to be a short-lived activity, but I was willing to give it a try. So, this book gets my recommendation, but with reservations...so sticker away and have some sticker fun.

So, I ordered an extra by accident when I was getting gifts for a niece. So, I decided to keep one for me. Its been really nice to use when Im sitting down to watch a movie or something of that sort. Its relaxing and a way to just get your mind off of things.

Loved this sticker book. The only drawback is that I did the whole book in 2 days while watching television. It's very simple to do and I found later there are sticker books out there that have more to do per picture that would last me longer. But overall this book was fun to do and when I was finished it was pleasing to look at the pictures, they had great color and almost a 3D effect. The spiral binding was also a plus.

And it's at turns hilarious, heartbreaking, and all around delightful.Susie Kelly is terrified of housework, so even she is questioning why she wants to turn the two decrepit outbuildings on her property into holiday cottages for rent. After going through no less than four builders in trying to restore the buildings, she finally settles into a routine and begins accepting guests from all over the world... when she's not butting heads with her wildly eccentric housekeeper or entertaining her quiet but just as eccentric American penpal. And over the course of four years she will play host to a group of nudists, guests terrified of the chickens and dogs she keeps on her property, kids and teenagers both obnoxious and well-behaved, a violently insane artist, and a host of other colorful personalities.The writing in this book wasn't spectacular, in my opinion, but it did its job well and was technically sound. Kelly does a good job of telling her story without showing a lot of bias, and is just as likely to make fun of herself or point out her own flaws as she is to skewer the bad/weird behaviors of her guests. And she works hard to find the silver lining in most of her guests' stays, even those that were perfectly obnoxious to put up with. She even reveals interesting tidbits about village life in France, and some aspects of French history and culture that most outsiders would be unfamiliar with.Much of the humor simply comes from the antics of her guests... and let's face it, human behavior is so weird that it doesn't need much embellishment to make it hilarious. And when you're not wanting to strangle certain guests for their horrible behavior (such as the artist who threatens the cats and trashes her cottage before leaving, or the parents who hang out at bars all day and leave the kids behind), you're laughing at their misadventures and quirks, and perhaps even going "hey, I know people like that."A delightful little read, "Swallows and Robins" might not be a masterpiece, but it's a light and enjoyable humor read for when you just want a book to put a smile on your face. And it might make you want to plan your own vacation to a holiday home in rural France...

A year ago I read this author's I WISH I COULD SAY I'M SORRY - the gripping, sometimes deeply sad story of her childhood and first marriage. From the reviews of that book, I learned that she has written a number of popular "light" books about her life in France. Some reviewers were openly disturbed at her dark memories of her early life. They were accustomed to reading about the mad-cap adventures of a happy-go-lucky woman and that's what they were expecting.I love this book. It's a series of delightful stories about the four years when she rented out two cottages on her property to those seeking to escape their daily lives with a vacation in a quiet corner of the French countryside. She's a wonderfully talented writer and every one of these stories is filled with humor and drama and peeks into the quirks and oddities of human nature. You don't realize exactly how goofy and unrealistic and generous and loving and strange people can be until you're cooped up with them for several weeks in an area where there's not much to do but eat, sleep, walk around, and visit. And in addition to the "paying guests" she was also dealing with neighbors, maintenance workers, and her delusional, semi-dangerous cleaner Ivy.As I say, I love this book, but I'm glad I read Susie's book about her childhood first. It helped me understand her need to make people happy and her extreme tolerance of behavior that would cause most of us to explode. God love her, she's seen worse and from those who were supposed to care for and protect her. She's an extremely likable person and that comes through in her books. Nothing better than reading a great book by a good friend - even if you've never met her.

I really enjoyed reading about Susie and her ever-changing line of guests who rent her two self-catering cottages. This kind of real-life tale is always fascinating. The cast of characters she has to put up with, and with such patience, is amusing and amazing! It's a pity there were no illustrations in the Kindle edition, as I could never get a picture in my mind of what her house and the cottages actually look like -- I could not even build up a mind picture. But Susie really entertains the reader with this account, and I was sorry that it had to come to an end.However, Susie should have said something more about her husband. We are told he works away, in London, while she stays in France. But did he never come home for a weekend or a holiday? His total absence almost made me think they'd broken up (they hadn't)! His input, however meagre, would have been invaluable -- after all, Susie is his wife, she is on her own, and she gets some peculiar guests! If he ever came home, surely he would have had some interesting opinions on the state of affairs?Also, if there was one niggle -- and this is very subjective -- it is that Susie comes across as somewhat too sweet! This is seldom a negative, but it would have thrown a few sparks into the story if Susie vented about some of her impossible guests to us, the readers! She is so laid-back that I sometimes wanted to shake her! I also wondered if she didn't, perhaps, overdo the character of Ivy, her home help. Could such a character exist?But I heartily recommend this book for people who like reality tales of life in France! Thanks, Susie!

I bought this for a teen's Christmas present and he was happy to receive it. Anyone can use it for a notebook or a journal .

This is a great 8.5”x11” journal with a soft glossy cover (just as described) almost like a school workbook. Pages are lined with light gray lines - wide ruled. I bought this as a gift for my 15 year old nephew & I’m sure he will enjoy it!

Amazon has done us a huge disservice by lumping all the reviews for the various "original" versions of this book together. The version I purchased (black cover with money on the bottom, kindle version) is riddled with errors where the publisher evidently SCANNED the book in and then didn't bother to edit the results. Page numbers appear randomly in the middle of paragraphs, "m" appears where clearly "in" was intended and in some cases paragraphs just end in the middle of a sentence. This is a great book but some of the publishers have done a terrible job reproducing it and Amazon isn't helping by grouping very different copies together in the same review group.I hope to update this review when I find a less crappy copy of this book, but avoid the version with the black cover with money on the bottom. (See pictures)

First, i was thinking that this book will only help me in the performance part of my life, by giving tips, habits and principles of the most succesfull people on the planet. But my image of the book changed when i read all of it. It helps also on how to become an incredible person, how to treat people and how to see all that happens to you in a different way.Second, it talks about BELIEVING, it says that in order to reach whatever you seek you first have to believe and have faith in your abilities, in the plan that God has for you and to BELIEVE IN YOU!! Also it teaches you that you need to have faith, persistance and very BIG BIG dreams. For all of you that are reading this review i want to tell you THAT YOU CAN DO IT!! YOU WERE BORN TO BE GREAT!! But people dont believe it because of what other people says about them but ignore the negative people and STAY LOCKED WITH YOUR DREAM, DONT LET ANYONE TELL YOU WHAT TO DO OR HOW TO THINK. IGNORE THEM AND STAY FOCUS ON YOUR PURPOSE. I WANT TO TELL YOU THAT I BELIEVE IN YOU AND I LOVE YOU. YOU CAN MAKE IT!!!!!!!!!!

I have read over 50 self-help books in my life so far. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill is in my TOP 5! In fact, I personally know two millionaires (one being a family member) and both HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book! The family member originally moved to the United States in his early 30's and hardly spoke a word of English. Actually started off delivering pizzas. One day he was gifted the book Think and Grow Rich by a very wealthy customer. He devoured this book and read it over 20 times! A decade later he became a millionaire (Net Worth: ~10 Million USD). True story. In fact, if you do your research you will learn that Think and Grow Rich has produced the most millionaires out of any self-help product.FRAUD ALERT ABOUT CLAIMED "UNABRIDGED" VERSIONS:Yes, this is an amazing book! However, there are so many versions of this book. Amazon clumps all of the reviews of the various editions in to one group which adds to the confusion. The BEST version is the 1937 ORIGINAL. Many publishers of this book claim that there version is the 1937 ORIGINAL UNABRIDGED. Then you read the introduction and find out that the publisher revised it, abridged or "modernized" it. Thus making the original claim FALSE/LIE! Most interestingly, these revised/updated versions remove essential key words such as the word VIBRATIONS. The removal/substitution of this word completely changes the context of the sentence. I am a fairly spiritual person and reading the original unmodified 1937 version was MUCH MORE PROFOUND to me. In fact, so much of an affect that in 6 months of reading the original my salary increased by 50% WHILE working from home 98%. Naturally, I gave away all of the other versions I hadI spent over 10 HOURS reading through many comments on Amazon and Google. My goal was to find truly REAL 1937 ORIGINAL UNABRIDGED versions. Here are the BEST FORMATS of the ACTUAL REAL 1937 ORIGINAL UNABRIDGED VERSIONS of Think and Grow Rich:Kindle Version: Think and Grow Rich: The Original 1937 Unedited Edition - Created by the OFFICIAL Napoleon Hill Foundation. Unfortunately, their physical book format is terrible. I think they simply photocopied the original and then tried to fit it on each page. The results, the font is too small and there is a TON of wasted white space for the margins. It is simply awful to read even though the their intentions were good. The most readable physical book version I have found is by Melvin Powers linked below.Physical Book Version: Think and Grow Rich - Facsimile Edition that is by forward Melvin Powers.Enjoy!P.S. I would be grateful if someone could point me to a good quality audiobook that is 100% for certain is a narration of the ACTUALLY REAL 1937 ORIGINAL UNABRIDGED VERSION.

Despite the age of this book, I found the underlying lessons it contained to be highly relevant to my life today. The most valuable ideas I gathered from this book:1) You cannot acquire great wealth without a concrete plan for attaining that wealth, a serious passion that compels you to act on your plan continuously, and great faith that your plan will allow you to succeed.2) Many of the world's greatest achievers were passionate to the point of obsession, and in order to emulate their success you must cultivate a desire until it becomes an obsession.3) Material success does not come solely as a result of knowledge acquisition, but rather from one's ability to organize and transform specialized knowledge such that it can be delivered to a wide audience in the form of a product or service.4) Persistence often makes the difference between success and failure. It is a state of mind that is essential to success and can be overcome through effort.5) One of the common attributes of highly successful people is the ability to reach decisions quickly and to change them slowly. Most of us are the opposite.

Finally! a clean and unabridged edition. I had to purchase two other editions before finding this one. It is clean, good size font, and true to the original 1937 wording. Published by Dauphin Publications ISBN 978-1939438256. Nice job!

This has been a really challenging set of grooves and exercises so far. My only regret is buying the electronic version. I did it for the convenience of using my iPad, which I attach to my hi-hat stand. However, you don't get the CD with the grooves recorded that way, so sometimes it's harder to know what the end result *should* sound like. That's the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. Otherwise, it's a great book that will push your playing no matter where you are skill wise.

Beyond the stated and obvious benefits of studying the exercises from this book, there are collateral benefits as well. I have found three weeks into faithfully practicing these exercises, that my time feel has gotten cemented. I have always had good time but my pocket has gotten so much deeper since beginning to practice from Future Sounds. Logically it makes sense because we are practicing sixteenth note subdivisions with changing accents and feels on both hands and feet. The aim of course, is to feel these subdivisions and to make these rhythms groove. By so doing, my feel has become so much more natural to the point of getting comments from the audience about the pocket I've been setting. I've worked out of various books which are meant to improve the drummer's time concepts but none have done me as much good as working from this book. To have great time, you've got to get the whole idea out of your head and into your hands. Great time is felt! You have to feel it to make it happen. These exercises really help. Also, applying the principles from the George Stone Stick Control book help you to play these rhythms so much better. My overall "flow" when playing with the band has been enhanced greatly as a result of practicing Future Sounds exercises. If the book promised nothing more than the things I've already mentioned, it would be worth the price of admission. Of course, these are the things that AREN'T mentioned in the ads for Future Sounds. Suffice it to say that practiced regularly and with commitment, Future Sounds delivers on its' promises and then some. Recommended for intermediate to advanced players and to all drummers, especially those who want to get in on David Garibaldi's "secrets" of funk drumming.

Great book for learning to play with more subtlety, dynamics and creativity on the kit. This was one of the first books my drum teacher had me crack open after a 20 year hiatus from the drums (played a bit in high school, got distracted by guitar and hand percussion for a few decades and then came back to drum kit in my mid thirties once I finally had a basement I could set a set up in.) This isn't an easy book to get through and some of the exercises will have you gnashing your teeth but it's BEAUTIFUL when the lessons finally sink in and you feel that GROOVE flowing through all four of your limbs. I've been grinding my way through this book (among a few others like "Stick Control" and "Syncopation") for the last two months and have seen my playing grow by leaps and bounds. I'd agree with some of the other reviewers that it's not a "beginner" book, and honestly it was probably a bit above my level when I stared digging through it, but it's pure meditation and accomplishment going through this thing and learning how to drum with more funk and musicality.Plus it makes my brain hurt.Highly recommend.

I love the beats and teachings, but the copy I recieved has permutation studies that differ from my instructors copy(that he’s had for many years)... he is one of the states best instructors and he says he has never seen that happen haha. I was hoping for a chance to receive a replacement but it looks like my return window has shut

This is a great book that teaches skills that can be applied to many other drum books. David teaches how to develop permutations of a groove. It you have a drum groove with eight notes, if you shift the notes to the right once, you have a new groove called a permutation of the main groove. If there are eight notes in one groove, you can potentially create eight permutations of the original groove by shifting all the notes on the snare and bass drum to the right once. When you have done this eight times you are back at the original groove. So if you have fifty eight note grooves, you can create four hundred permutations. You can take a book like stick control and create thousands of permutations. The results of playing all these different combinations is a greater vocabulary on the drum set. To be a monster and versatile, you need to practice as many permutations as you can figure out. David has shown us how to create permutations. Lets say you wanted to create sixteenth note permutations. Instead of shifting eight times, you would have to shift sixteen times to come back to the original. So, fifty original grooves multiplied by sixteen permutations for each groove equals eight hundred permutations all together. This concept is infinite and can be applied to any drum book other than "Future Sounds" that you will potentially own in a life time. Great stuff. I hope this has been of benefit to you. I got this book about six months ago and it sat there until yesterday because I had ordered multiple books at that time. Boy was that the wrong choice. I started working out of it yesterday and I’m excited about the possibilities that have been opened to me in just the first 3 pages. It works your brain for sure. Get this book. Your brain will hate you but your drums will love you.

If you're anything like me, this book made you realize just how little you really know. A lot of the exercises that involve playing different dynamics on different limbs were soul-crushing at first. I didn't know that something so simple could give me so much grief!I can't say that I use this book's grooves a lot in my playing (some of them are downright esoteric unless you're playing some way out there, funky avant-garde stuff ), but the exercises have done so much to improve my coordination and feel. If you're feeling cocky and need a book to take you down a peg, this one will do it!

If you're a Route 66 lover, then this is another "must have" book. But I was somewhat disappointed that it really only focused on the motels along the road. A lot of the photos are copies of post cards or travel brochures. There were so many other attractions along Route 66 that would have been nice to have included. But what I think was most needed were maps. Joe gives the address of most of the motels, but it really would have been nice to see a map for each chapter showing exactly where along Route 66 the photos were taken. This would have made it more of a book you'd take along with you on your next trip exploring old Route 66 today.

I have the complete series from Illinois to California and some selected towns like where I live, Kingman AZ. Actually living on old Route 66 makes the series come alive and I've explored many places found in the books and photo documented them. They are a good read and the photos are good quality. I highly recommend the entire set if you are at all interested in the Mother Road.

I REMEBER ROUTE 66 BECAUSE OF MY DAD, I HAVE AWESOME MEMORIES. AND PHOTOS OF OUR OWN. MY DADS GONE, AND SO IS A LOT OF OTHER THINGS. BUT ITS GREAT HOW PEOPLE GET TOGETHER WITH THEIR OLDER CARS AND GET THEIR CAR CLUBS GOING AROUND ROUTE 66. I HAD KNOW IDEA THAT THE FREEWAYS THAT WENT BY THEM TO BE IN THIS BIG HURRY AND MISSED THE BEST OF AMERICA.HOW SAD.

Excellent book! If you are interested in Route 66, this is the book you must read.

My wife LOVES these books. she usually reads through the entire thing in the 1st night after getting one. Great coffee table gifts, assuming you're interested in the subject matter.

Part of the next trip

This is an excellent book on Arizona 66. Have been on this section of the 'Mother Road' a couple of times and this book provides a great vintage to modern comparison of the sights and locations along the road.

My son is a voracious reader. We got him 7 of the Basher Science books for his 8th birthday in late March. He had finished them all by the end of April and has picked them back up again to reread. (2nd grade, reading at a U-level) He won't touch a fiction book unless forced, but if it is about science or technology he can't put it down. Just enough pictures to keep him from feeling intimidated by the text, perfect silliness level to keep him engaged, and more real science facts than he could absorb the first time through.

Wonderful book for my 6 year old. Perfectly written, illustrated and informative without being too overwhelming for a child. I would say this book would be one that would take my 6 year old into middle school, as the information will grow with him as he grows. He can take the more simple information for what he needs, and then comprehend the entirety of the book as he gets older.

My students love these books AND I love these books! I have students who reach for them when they are done completing classwork, after tests and in study hall. I teach 7th grade science and I am constantly using these as in class references to explain topics to students who may not understand; these books put vocab into kid friendly terms that aren't intimidating. I currently own around 8-10 of the science themed books from Basher, I buy them as they get published and have been building my "library" for about 5-6 years now. These would make an excellent gift for any kid, a teacher or yourself for that matter. They have amazing graphics, are excellently written and are well made/bound.

My son LOVES these books. The 8x8 size is also inviting. Cute characters introduce difficult ideas. My son wants the whole series. I have to admit the layout makes me curious, to see who is included in what. And it explains those new planets, and the sad demotion of our dear Pluto, and the various things that we didn't know about (kupiter belt, anyone?)This is a nice companion to any series, and it's also a quick reference. One of those "coffee table books" for kids, that they only pick up because of the nifty cover, but then spend more time in it because it's got some humor and interesting facts. One of those good examples of science well presented doesn't need a lot of whistles and bells, it's just cool in and of itself.

My daughter absolutely loves all the Basher books. They covered astronomy in her 4th grade class and saw that there was a Basher book on the subject. She asked for the book, I didn't tell her I was going to buy it. It arrived just as summer break was starting. I was opening my Amazon package, placed the book on the dinging table, she passed by and squealed with delight. I don't often see that look on her face.

These Basher Science books are super great for a classroom library. I teach 4th graders, they love the half dozen or so of these books that we have. I do a little preview and the kids are hooked! Gotta love it when they don't realize they are even learning.

I've been using it for night reading to our 8 year old, and in preparation for some star gazing (and I can do some night photography). I have some of the science and nature-related Basher's as well; and we'll expand into those. It's helpful to me in our conversations. Well done.Bart Carrig

The Basher book series is a favorite of my daughter. She loves the illustrations. The information is presented in sections that are easily understood and enjoyable for kids.
