This novel was even better than book 1. It was scary in parts, and in the beginning the fate of one of the characters was a big surprise. I enjoyed every page, and couldn’t put it down. The plot of book 2 was similar to that of book 1—-the evil that resided in Briarwych Church. There was that continuity between the 2 novels, but this novel was very different than the prior novel. I found that to be a pleasant surprise. Some 2 & 3 part books are so identical to the prior book(s), I can’t tell where book 1 ended & the next began. It’s like reading the same novel as the one before. That’s not the case with this trilogy. Book 2 is set over 70 years after book 1. All of the characters are different than those in book 1, but the evil presence is still in the church. We learn more about it, and how it’s developed & grown through the 70 years.I’ve read several of Amy Cross’s novels and enjoyed them all. I will say that there were a number of typos & minor editing errors, small things, but altogether they were a bit distracting.I would have liked to have read a short summary of what Mark was doing between his rescue at the airfield when he was 15 and his return to Briarwych Church when he was 20. But, nevertheless, this was a very good novel. I highly recommend it to those readers who enjoy “haunted house†novels. Ms. Cross is one of my favorite authors. You can’t go wrong with an Amy Cross novel! I’ll be reading book 3 next.
Any Cross has done it again, I do enjoy her books. She can grab you right off and not loose your interest. This book can stand on it's own, but you'll miss out if you don't read the other two. May you enjoy the hauntingly good reading of the Supernatural. 💘👈🌹⛄â„
This is the second installment of the Briarwych church. The horror that lives within the church has been the burden of the village that lives behind closed doors. This book had a great surprising twist. Will, obviously, get the third book. Scary!
Very good read got spooked and loved it read it in two nights and got the next book at the same time
This is definitely a multi layered story that I look forward to reading about in the other books about Briarwych Church. This Author is truly a gifted story teller.
Well book two was just as good as book one. Fast Moving story like the first. You want to keep reading to see what happens next.
I read all three, didn't really like them. Gave me something to read. No surprises, boring story line.
Amy Cross is my favorite in bed before sleep read. This series is no exception.
